What energises you the most in life?

At work, I prefer to be proactive and get stuck into tasks. I find energy and motivation from diversity in my days and being in a lively environment (I can talk quite a lot). If I’m doing chores at home, blasting music always spurs me on. If my batteries need recharging, I like to round-up friends, grab my camera and spend the day outside.

What’s your key to long-lasting collaborations and client relationships?

Is communication the most cliche answer? Probably, but I’m sticking with it because it’s the most important – professional AND personal. I like to think I’m friendly to everybody and in my working life, I’ve learned a lot more about understanding and patience.

Not everybody has your level of knowledge on certain subjects or topics, just like you won’t have theirs. So if you need to repeat things or walk through processes slowly so that everybody understands, then so be it!

When do you feel in your element?

I’m happiest when there’s an energetic buzz in the room. One of my favourite things about SeventhElement so far is how welcoming everybody is, and the fact that everybody here has a positive energy – no negativity from team SeventhElement 🙂

My role is content-heavy, which is great as that’s where I thrive. But I also love having the opportunity to grow my skill set and learn new things. I’m currently being shown the ropes on social media at a business level, which I’m enjoying and hopefully, this will be another area where I soon flourish.

What’s your go-to productivity hack?

LISTS!! I feel like this should be under my ‘nerdy’ question, but I LOVE making a list. I know we’re in the digital age, but clear and systematic handwritten lists are so satisfying – see, nerd.

Having everything laid out and prioritised keeps me so much more organised, I’m also quite forgetful, so lists make sure I don’t forget anything. Seeing everything in one place makes hitting deadlines easier, I’m more productive and therefore more motivated.

Shoutout Paperchase for some excellent to-do list notepads 😉

I do have way too many digital lists on my phone notes though (23, I just counted) – if it’s something I need access to while I’m out and about; shopping lists, to-do lists, food & bar recommendations etc.

What does your digital detox look like?

Festivals! There are many things/people/places where I’m happy to go on a digital detox and really enjoy not using socials, but I will have the occasional fleeting thought of wanting to check or wondering if I’m missing anything (literally NEVER missing anything).

But festivals are the one place where social media doesn’t even cross my mind. Not for a second. My phone goes in my bag when I arrive and isn’t switched on until I’m leaving, unless I wander off and lose my friends. Standard.

Nitrogen is used as a coolant: how do you keep cool under pressure?

Phone off, deep breathe and find the positives of the situation! (…and usually make a list)

What’s the nerdiest thing you do outside of work?

I don’t necessarily DO anything nerdy, but I am obsessed with sharks.

Name a shark documentary and I’m certain I’ve watched it. I occasionally fall down a YouTube wormhole and before I know it I’ve spent four hours watching shark videos. I also follow about 40 shark/shark photographer/shark and ocean conservationist Instagram accounts. Okay, this is nerdy.
